KUALA LUMPUR: Property developer Naza TTDI Sdn Bhd held a ceremony yesterday to officially present four para-athletes with keys to their new apartments in recognition of bringing home gold medals.
Three of the para-athletes are Paralympians who participated in the 2016 Rio Paralympics in Brazil. They are Mohamad Ridzuan Mohamad Puzi, Muhammad Ziyad Zolkefli and Abdul Latif Romly.
Meanwhile, Azizulhasni Awang won a gold medal for the Men’s keirin event during the 2017 UCI Track Cycling World Championship in Hong Kong.
Each para-athlete received a key to an apartment unit at the Soho Trio Permai apartments developed by Naza TTDI.
Naza TTDI chairman, Jasmy Ismail, and CEO, Daniel Lim Hin Soon, were present at the ceremony that was held virtually due the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We want to take this opportunity to congratulate all the athletes for the gold medals and their achievements,” said Lim.
“We admire and appreciate their hard work, vigorous training, discipline and perseverance. They are truly the role models for all Malaysians.”
Ridzuan and Ziyad walked away with Malaysia’s first-ever gold medal at the Paralympics in the men’s T36 100m dash.
The latter also brought home another gold medal when he won the men’s F20 shot putt event, creating a new world record in the process.
Abdul, meanwhile, won the gold medal in the men’s T20 long jump, breaking his own world record not once, but thrice, in the same day.
For his part, Azizulhasni created history when he became the first national cyclist to win a gold medal at the 2017 championship in Hong Kong.
He also participated in the Rio Olympics in 2016, bringing home a bronze medal.
Both medals were for the keirin events held at the Olympic Games and the UCI Track Cycling World Championship.
The athletes expressed their gratitude for Naza TTDI’s kind gesture, with Azizulhasni commenting favourably on the apartment’s proximity to amenities.
“We feel blessed and thankful for being awarded a unit of the SOHO Trio Permai apartment. This reward has spurred me to work even harder to bring glory to Malaysia,” said Ziyad.
The residential suites gifted to the athletes have a market value of RM350,000, with a built-up area of 450 sq ft.
There is also a swimming pool, multipurpose room, gymnasium, changing rooms, elevators, laundry facilities and a surau.
Situated on prime land in Puchong South, Soho Trio Permai is also integrated with retail businesses and is considered one of the area’s most vibrant mixed model developments.
In addition, the apartments are strategically located, with an MRT station, and major roads and highways nearby, including the MEX Expressway, the LDP and the Bukit Jalil Expressway.
The integrated development, which has a projected value of RM117 million, was completed in December last year.
